Personal Profile

My art interest started at an early age strongly encouraged by my father, himself an accomplished artist in many media.
I was fortunate as a young artist in 1982 to be accepted to exhibit at the Mall Galleries at The National Children’s Art Exhibition sponsored by Sir Adrian Cadbury, where I was awarded “Highly Commended” for my watercolour still life. Supported by excellent tutors this ignited my interest in creating artwork and trying different styles.
After a dormant period busy raising a family and following an active risk management career, my art interest was rekindled in 2013 during a period of convalescence. My rejuvenated interest has brought exciting new challenges and directions including discovering life study, a variety of mediums and the joy of collaborating with other artists.
Whilst initially a watercolourist I love to explore other mediums including working in pastel, oils and acrylics paints which bring great pleasure. My medium of preference is now oils often using texture mediums to create artworks. Attending workshops and masterclasses as well as teaching others is a great way of focusing on artistic development and working alongside other artists is very motivating.
Travels with my family to the French Alps, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Portugal are a frequent source of inspiration. I have a particular fascination with light and reflection especially water subjects, mountains and landscapes.
I participate annually in the Bucks Open Studios art trails exhibiting, demonstrating and teaching workshops and exhibit my work in the UK and Europe. My paintings can be found in local galleries and online.
I hope that you enjoy my work, do take time to send comments I would love to hear from you. I am happy to take commissions.
